Learn about the Golden Mile and the thriving days of the gold rush period. Have your photo taken next to a huge dump truck, and see the oversized ‘Super Pit’, the world’s largest single open cut mining operation which still continues to recover precious metal. At the end of the tour, return to the Indian Pacific to continue your overnight journey.

Day 2 - The Nullabor Plain (B, L, D)

Early this morning the Indian Pacific will stop at a siding in Rawlinna, where you can disembark to watch the sunrise followed by a delicious breakfast. Continue your journey across the longest straight stretch of railway in the world, and stop at Cook, once a thriving railway town but now considered a ghost town. Spend the afternoon in your cabin watching the world go by, or head to the lounge car to make new friends and listen to the live entertainer.

Day 3 - Arrive Adelaide (B)

Early this morning arrive into Adelaide, and make your way to your accommodation. As check in is not until later in the day, drop your bags off and wander over to the famous Central Markets to explore the many food delights on offer. This afternoon, catch the tram down the Glenelg, a popular seaside suburb with a great selection of boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

Overnight: Majestic Roof Garden Hotel or similar, 4 nights

  • visit Flinders Chase National Park and its iconic Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.

It is a full day of touring, but to see this many sights in one day is definitely worth it!
