Itinerary

Arriving at Hill Inlet, you will be transferred from the cruise vessel to the shoreline in Tongue Point. Our friendly guide will then escort you through the national park walking tracks to the lookout above the swirling sands of Hill Inlet.

Then back to the catamaran for the cruise across the 6km expanse of Whitehaven Beach. Anchoring in the southern section of the beach. Lunch will be served on board the vessel in air-conditioned comfort. As lunch is concluded, you will be able to transfer onto Whitehaven.

Once on the beach, our guides will escort you onto the Solway circuit walking track. The lookout on the Solway circuit offers breath taking views along the full length of Whitehaven and south to Pentecost Island and through the Lindeman Group of Islands. You will then have free time on the beach to take a dip in the beautiful clear waters or just relax on the silica sand.

If you have had enough sun for the day and would like to come back on board, our friendly crew will return you to the vessel where you can relax in the shade and enjoy a beverage.

Departing Whitehaven Bay the vessel will head south through Solway Pass (God’s washing machine). Travelling along the southern shoreline of Whitsunday Island passing Hamilton Island then traversing through Fitzalan pass, passing Henning Island into the Whitsunday Passage. Heading west across the Whitsunday Passage at its widest point, passing Long Island and the Molle Group of Islands before returning to Shute Harbour.

Please Note:
Due to tidal restrictions at Tongue point, there will be two operating schedules. This will change the direction of travel and the order in which we visit each site. EG, high tide in the morning dictates Tongue point is the first destination for the day, and the opposite applies if the high tide is in the afternoon.

Excluding the morning departure times from Shute Harbour the above times are approximate and will differ slightly due to prevailing weather conditions or other influences.
